10 Corso Como – Comme des Garçons

Had a trip down memory lane as I visited the Corso Como – Comme des Garçons store here in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. Minami-Aoyama is one of the more popular shopping areas along with Omotesando, which has turned into a catwalk of funky styles. Both are a must when visiting Tokyo.

The area is well known for its exclusive fashion houses and restaurants. I felt as if I was back in Milan, where I first visited the 10 Corso Como lifestyle concept store with fashion, design, music, art and photography. Icing on the cake, I ran into Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozzani.

Issey Miyake, Pleats Please

Always exciting to check out what Japanese designer Issey Miyake has to offer when I’m in town. I have a weakness for his pleats.

This unique hat is made from Japanese knotting, which tends to focus on individual knots. Mizuhiko symbolizes togetherness and is usually made from washi, Japanese paper. Each knot is colorful, has a meaning and is used for a special occasion.

Fresh and beautifully neutral colors.

Jun Takahashi, Undercover

Visited Undercover by Jun Takahashi in Minami Aoyama. Fell head over heels for these gorgeous candles which are the first collaboration between the fabulous French Cire Trudon candle company and Jun Takahashi. The candles are decorated with a cameo representing the face of Grace, the iconic doll of the brand. I simply couldn’t resist coming home with the beautiful pink pillar candle in my bag. It’s going to be a lovely addition to my room!

Hiding there in the white dress is the furry little creature called Grace. I’ve become rather fond of it to tell you the truth. Adorable!

The store was wonderfully dramatic with it’s darling creatures and fabulous ceiling of light bulbs.
