I’m fine dining in the sky (on the top floor of the Chanel Ginza building) with Michelin star cuisine epitomized at Beige Alain Ducasse Tokyo. Could life get any sweeter? I think not! The food is absolutely delicious, the desserts are spectacular works of food art and the service is impeccable. My kind of place, I think I’ll move in so as to reap the full benefits of the sumptuous Chanel interiors, fine cuisine and flowing bottles of Perrier-Jouët champagne.
I’ve now returned home to Tokyo, Japan and to fête the occasion I was indulged with a wonderfully luxurious evening spent at Bvlgari Ginza Tower. The evening included exceptional live Italian jazz music by Francesco Lomagistro & Berardi Jazz Connection Quintet enjoyed in great company and with flowing Dom Pérignon vintage champagne alongside a selection of small bite creations by Michelin starred executive chef Luca Fantin.
When the weather has been as glum and uninspiring as it has been for the past few days pampering both belly and spirit feels extra important. As tempting as it is to spend all day in bed, I unfortunately have plenty of work that’s keeping me out of it. A healthy and hearty breakfast with plenty of fruit (nature’s candy) gets me going in combination with a warm cup of mao feng green tea and some classical opera playing in the background.

Now that I’m back in London it’s time to catch up on the things that I’ve missed out on whilst I’ve been away. This includes catching up on my reading of The World of Interiors and House & Garden (my go to indulgence whenever I tire of the fashion magazines), among other things. I don’t know about you but for me beautiful, inspiring atmospheres act as an instant pick-me-up, they’re also filled with plenty of exciting ideas with what to do with your interiors and where to look for those key pieces.
Feasting on Michelin starred cuisine on the skyline of Ginza- one of the world’s most luxurious shopping districts, is the best pick-me-up after an intensive shopping spree. Alain Ducasse’s restaurant Beige, in collaboration with fashion brand Chanel boasts two Michelin stars and offers a sumptuous setting with excellent service and delicious food that indulges both sight and taste senses.
This was then followed by a main course of seared Kinmedai, two ways fennel, lemon jus.
As the days are still short, dark and cold, I find myself increasingly relying on the comfortable light and warmth provided by candles. One of my favorite candle boutiques is Cire Trudon that lies tucked away on 36 Chiltern Street, a quite street in Marylebone, only a short walk from my second home the Wallace Collection.
The beautiful little boutique stocks a full range of iconic pillar candles with cameos, wax busts, perfumed candles and room sprays that are simply oh so decadent. One of my favorite perfumed candle scents would probably have to be Abd El Kader with top notes of spearmint, lemon, blackcurrant bud, apple, ginger, clover, a middle of jasmin and a base of vanilla.
